The Hidden Lair Newsletter November 2014
It's been a busy few months, but The Hidden Lair is back in full swing and better than ever.
We are finally settled into the new, bigger space and that gives us more time to make your experience in the Lair more complete. The first way we are doing this is introducing the ARROW (Andy’s Radical Review Of the Week): a Detailed Review of the Game of the Week. The ARROW will also allow our players to contribute to the review by adding the ARROW Range where the group Andy plays the game with can add their own comments and concerns that will be voiced in the article. We are very excited to be adding this to our quiver. You can already find the October ARROWs on our site.

The Hidden Lair November Calendar
Saturday November 1st: Smash Brothers Project M Tourney
- 7pm. $7 entry fee. Come in and check out this incredible Smash Brothers mod along with our friends over at Gamestop. See store for details.
Saturday November 8th: Netrunner Jack In
- 3pm. Do you have what it takes to hack the Megacorps? Come in and find out. This is a free event and new players are welcome. We will be having demonstrations, showing off the new features of the game, and teaching how to play. This is casual play. New bundles will be available. See store for details.
Friday November 14th: Stockpile
- Time TBA. Come in and see the game The Hidden Lair helped Kickstart. Stockpile is a game about stock manipulation, hidden information, and wagering. Come in and test your poker-face against game creator Seth Van Orden for this early preview of the game. Saturday November 15th: Miniatures Casual Play
- 3pm. Ever wanted to try out a miniatures game? Well come in for our Casual Play event and give them a try. We will have a number of different miniatures games available, including Warhammer 40K, BattleTech, HeroClix, X-Wing, and more.
Saturday November 22nd: Miniatures Workshop
- 3pm. Do you want be the player that everyone asks how did you get that model looking so good? This is where you will learn. We have prepared a step by step video and everyone who is here will get to paint along with the video and ask questions. At the end of the workshop you can leave with the model you painted to that point or finish it here all supplies you will need will be provided. If you want to learn more, check out our look at BattleTech, along with our plans to get a full campaign up and running in the near future. Friday November 28th: BLACK FRIDAY
- 3pm. Come in for some great deals on all your favorite stuff.
Saturday November 29th: Trivia Night!
- 7pm. $10 per person, teams of 2 required. Prizes to be determined.

- 6pm: $5 Yu-Gi-Oh! Humpday Duels – Advance Constructed
- 8pm: FREE ARROW Session – Playing the Game of the Week and Answering any Questions you might have.
Thursdays (6th, 13th, 20th, 27th)
- 5pm: FREE Board Game Gauntlet – demoing 2-3 Board Games every Thursday and answering any Questions you might have.
- 7pm: FREE Open Gaming – come on in, raid our Demo Shelf, and have some FUN!!!
Fridays (7th, 14th, 21st, 28th)
- 5pm: $5 Casual Friday Magic – Love the game but don’t play in any format? This is the game for you! Everyone gets a pack for playing with the remainder going to the top spot. Everybody wins!
- 6:30pm: $5 Friday Night Magic – Standard Constructed. The new set, Khans of Tarkir, is here so lets see those new decks.
Saturdays (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th)
- 11am-5pm: KIDZ DAY!!! – bring the kids into the store to play some Kaijudo, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: the Gathering, Dice Masters, or whatever they want. At The Hidden Lair, Saturdays are all about the kids and the future of gaming.
Sunday (9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th)
- 2pm: $5 Yu-Gi-Oh! SundayFunday – Advanced Constructed and the winner gets a prize card that will change from week-to-week.
- 6pm: $5-$15 HeroClix Lets Play – Either a 500pt Constructed or Draft tournament. Either way, we make it happen every Sunday.

We are sorry that we have not been doing a lot for the Monthly events here at The Hidden Lair and we hope to see that change in the future. Due to our moving and various other obligations, we have not been able to cover the previous Monthly events we talked about back in our July Newsletter. On a more positive note, we still have a number of the Special OP Items here at the store and if you are interested in any of them, come on in and talk to Andy about you you can get this great Clix items for your collection. Here is a list of all the Dice Masters Op month 3, 4, 5, and 6.
