Each week of April we feature a different game! Come in anytime to grab a game off of our Demo shelf and try it out. Don’t know how to play? Let our staff sit down and teach you! This month, there is even a special day set aside for it! Our Demo section is growing! We just added several new games during the month of March.

April 5th, 2014 is International Tabletop Day and will be hosted at The Hidden Lair! WAND TV will be there to support this amazing day. So come and get your free swag! Visit the blog for a full list of free items.
Journey into Nyx pre-release is April 26th. These sealed events are $25 and will drastically increase your change to win a free box of Magic The Gathering which will be given out on Sunday April 27th.
This month’s Kaijudo at the Library event will take place on April 17 at Mt Zion Public Library from 5:30pm–7:00pm. This month’s topic: How to Construct and Use Duel Specialization Decks. The library serves pizza and drinks and first time players receive a free starter deck. The whole event is free, but you must pre-register by calling the Mt. Zion Library at 864-3622. Learn how to play, then come in on Saturdays for our Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters tournament at 11 a.m.! Pizza and drinks are provided for kids 8 and up for only $10.00! Everyone brings home prizes!
Now featuring Kaijudo at the Forsythe Library as well! Come Thursday, April 24th from 5:30pm–7:00pm learn all about Kaijudo. New players will receive cards and be taught everything they need to know to play! Please be sure to sign up and reserve your spot by contacting them at 217-877-8174

Summer camp sign ups starting soon! The Hidden Lair will offer a week-long camp highlighting the fundamentals of some of our most popular card games such as Magic the Gathering and Kaijudo, board games like Rampage, Settlers of Catan, and Smash Up, and miniatures such as the very popular HeroClix where all of your super heroes come to life! We will have specific lessons to improve your game play in all areas. The class will include a drink and a snack as well prizes and materials to play your own games at home.
July 7th – 11th 9am -12pm Cost- $75
Netrunner tournaments will be starting this month. We will be hosting at least 1 event per month and the cost will be $5.
We plan to sell comic books on a subscription basis. The Herald and Review did a piece about Capital Comics closing and the void that left in the community with comics. We were asked if in the future we would have comic books in our store. We told the news reporter that we might be willing to do that, and since then people have been asking us when they could order comics through us. Well you no longer need to drive out of town to pick up your comic books. Call or come into our store for details.
June 21st, 2014 is Free RPG day! Like Free Comic Book Day, this is an all day event where local gaming stores provide free stuff for the Role Player! Swag Galore! Mark the day on your calendar and watch our website for details. Join us for a full day of Role Play games and free swag!
