This Weeks Event Recap at The Hidden Lair
This past week at The Hidden Lair was packed with tabletop action, hobby progress, and competitive Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team matchups. From ongoing league play to relaxed hobby nights and classic tabletop warfare, our community showed up night after night to roll dice, paint minis, and enjoy the store together.
Tuesday – Kill Team League and Hobby Night
Tuesday delivered a full slate of activity, balancing competitive play with creative hobby time.
The night kicked off with Kill Team Winter League action featuring Chaos Legionaries vs Ork Wrecka Krew. Both teams brought their own brand of brutality to the table, with disciplined heretic astartes clashing against raw Ork aggression. The matchup highlighted exactly why Kill Team is so engaging: tight boards, meaningful positioning, and every activation mattering.

Alongside league play, Hobby Painting Tuesday was in full swing. Hobbyists gathered to work on everything from Kill Teams to larger Warhammer projects, sharing tips, techniques, and motivation. Whether players were batch painting troops or putting finishing touches on characters, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.

The night wrapped up with another Kill Team Winter League match: T’au Pathfinders vs Kasrkin. This game showcased precision shooting and tactical movement, with elite Imperial forces squaring off against high-tech T’au specialists. It was a great example of two very different playstyles meeting on equal footing.

Wednesday – More Kill Team Winter League Battles
Wednesday was all about Kill Team, with two league matches back-to-back.
First up was Chaos Legionaries vs Tyranid Raveners. This matchup leaned heavily into close-quarters combat and aggressive play, as the alien swarm pressed forward against corrupted space marines. The game was fast, intense, and full of cinematic moments.

The second match of the evening featured Ork Wrecka Krew vs Angels of Death. Brutal melee threats and raw Ork toughness went head-to-head with the elite durability and discipline of Space Marines. Games like this are what make league nights special, as players learn their teams over time and adapt strategies week after week.

Thursday – BattleTech Night
Thursday shifted gears with BattleTech, bringing giant stomping mechs to the forefront. Players gathered to command their lances, manage heat, and make tactical decisions that could turn the tide of battle in a single round. BattleTech nights continue to grow, offering a fantastic alternative for players who enjoy deep strategy and classic tabletop sci-fi warfare.
